Michi Love

It was cold enough this morning for me to cover my legs, so I finally got to wear my MICHI Illusion leggings that I’ve been dying to don. I’m always on the hunt for unique leggings since I can’t stand wearing jeans 90% of the time, and these are – for lack of a better word – awesome. The detailing and sheer panels are exquisite and flirty enough to add sex appeal without being inappropriate. At 6am and running on 4 hours of sleep, I really couldn’t think much so I threw on an oversized shirt, beanie, sneakers and I was good to go!     +++++++ ON ME: – MICHI Illusion Leggings (here and here) – Free People Zahara Button Down – DIY Wool and the Gang Zion Lion Beanie – Isabel Marant Bazil/Bekett Sneakers – Pamela Love Cage Ring – J.Crew Bracelet FOOD: Break of Dawn – Ranchero Omelette – Green Eggs & Ham +++++ SONG OF THE DAY

Isabel Marant Sumac Jacket

Friday Five

1. Isabel Marant Sumac I’ve found my perfect spring jacket! Initially I was a little bit hesitant about the style, but the fit is beautiful. I ordered a size up as recommended by others and it’s perfect – still fitted but loose enough to layer over a light sweater. The jacket is also available in red and blue, but I went with the “safer” option of black to match more of my wardrobe. If you’re interested in the black, I recommend calling the SOHO boutique (212-219-2284) as that’s the only place I found it still available. I think I’m a little in love with this print? Paired here with the Salome skirt in red. 2. Tibetan Shawl So warm, so soft, so cozy…ahhh. There’s a shop in Laguna Beach called Tibet Handicrafts that sells very unique merchandise from Tibet, Nepal, India, and Himilaya. My mom and I were there visiting the owner, and I snatched up this incredibly soft shawl made of yak wool. I have to say it’s the softest and warmest shawl/scarf I own. 3. …

Isabel Marant Memphis Boots Gris

Isabel Marant Memphis

Happy days! I finally own a pair of Isabel Marant boots. I  heard they’d been on sale for awhile so I figured I’d give it a shot and call around – couldn’t hurt right? I ended up finding a pair in my size in Ivory, but due to miscommunication they ended up going to someone else. I’ll admit, I was a little miffed, but maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. Then I found out about Odessa in Portland, and they had my size at 50% off…in GRIS! My fingers dialed at record speeds and they arrived at my doorstep in 3 days. The gris is a rich dark grey, and the studs were done perfectly. They are gorgeous. Isabel Marant Salome Shorts

Pumped Up Kicks

New season, new sneakers! Isabel Marant came out with quite a few versions and colors of her famous Bekett and Betty/Bobby sneakers this season, including the Balesi, Bayley, Wila, Brian, and Baya. Cute Converse-like stars, perforated leather, and sweet piping galore! As tempting as they all were, I decided to stick with the plain solid Beketts in Beige since I knew I’d get more wear out of these compared to the other styles. Result: happy! I also decided to swap the blue Salome shorts (skort) I mentioned in the previous post with red. I instantly fell in love with them 10x more when I saw them at forwardforward. According to my Chinese “ba gua”, red is my lucky color this year (this is me justifying my inclination towards anything red lately). 3.1 Phillip Lim Weirdo

Phillip Lim Is A Weirdo

Monday came and brought two gifts in tow: 3.1 Phillip Lim spoke to the “weirdo” in me with this tee. It was a little hard choosing between the “WEIRDO” and the “LOCO“, but eccentricity won out in the end. Number two…Isabel Marant cotton shorts from the Summer ’13 collection. I’ve been trying to snipe a pair of these shorts from a past season on eBay for the longest time with little success, so I was totally excited when I saw these on Luisaviaroma. Best part? Reversible. They’re not too ideal for the weather right now (figures), so I’ll be pining away at these until the sun comes out.   I hope everyone has had a great start into the new year! 2013 is going to be a year of big changes, and I can’t wait to share it with you all. There were a few setbacks these past few months, but I’m back and ready to roll (forreal)! Big projects coming, so stay tuned!

Isabel Marant Betty Black

Betty and Flavie

The Isabel Marant Betty sneakers…what would I do without them? I’ve become quite the sneaker fiend these past few seasons, but they’re so irresistible! The now popular hidden-wedge-in-sneaker style does wonders for your legs (something I desperately need), and I intend to take advantage of that as much as I can. Espejto had a 30% off fall sale recently and I got my hands on the Isabel Marant Etoile Flavie top I’ve been eyeing for awhile. I love it! The embroidery is flawless and flows perfectly with the fabric. I sized up for a longer and looser fit. Beautiful jewelry from beautiful people. From the top: sterling silver casted sand dollar necklace c/o Linda, bronze casted bobcat claw by Rachel Young (she will be showing at The Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach next year!), Tiffany Elsa Peretti Dove necklace from dear mama. Sorry for the super in your face shot, but I really wanted to show these awesome Iosselliani Skull Earrings! Stay tuned for the Friday Five, a holiday nail tutorial, and holiday gifts …

Noupi Head

I have a soft spot for graphic tees + anything cute, and this Noupi tee is the perfect combo. Cinthya (aka Poly Cinco) was wonderful enough to send me one of her Icon tees before release, and I absolutely love it. Noupi is certainly something wonderful eclectic, with designs featuring kawaii doodle chibi characters to sassy Disney princesses. See more Noupi designs here. They’re having a special pop-up shop event August 8th til midnight with limited edition prints, so go check it out! My personal fav is their Noupi Head sweatshirt, fingers crossed they’ll be printing those soon. It’d be a brilliant addition to my casual fall wardrobe.   Wearing: Noupi Head Icon T-shirt available here J Brand Slim Fit Denim Jacket in Atomic Rag & Bone Jeans Isabel Marant Bazil Sneakers

Isabel Marant Bazil

At Last…Isabel Marant Bazil Sneakers

There really are no words to explain how absolutely frustrating it was to try and hunt down a pair of Isabel Marant Bekket sneakers (especially black) for the past few seasons/years. I either couldn’t find them, missed them, or couldn’t afford them. I was determined to get my hands on them this time around, and with the help of wonderful Mandi (findmeamuse), I did! I passed my name around to boutiques around the world like hotcakes, and it was done. I don’t know which was harder, tracking them down or waiting months for them to finally arrive! They are beautiful. Gorgeous. >Insert whatever adjective relating to amaziness here<. I was a little skeptical of the python print at first, but the execution is second to none. It’s subtle, but obvious enough to add just a little bit of texture. I’m waiting on 2 other colors, since I couldn’t make up my mind, but the black Bazil is doing an excellent job of convincing me. For anyone who’s confused by the sizing, these sneakers are in …

Fourth of July

Red, White, Blues In The Skies

Summer’s in the air, baby heaven’s in your eyes. I’m your national anthem.  I thought it’d be fun to make a set in honor of Independence Day & the 2012 Olympics, so here it is! Isabel Marant Pepal Pants

Lace Up

It’s no secret that Isabel Marant is an absolute fashion genius, and my love (more like obsession) for her only continues to grow as the seasons pass. I’m constantly scouring the web for good deals, and I was lucky enough to nab a pair of her pants that I’d been eying during Net-A-Porter’s yearly sale! Imagine my excitement when I saw them for nearly half off, in my size, and 1 left. Woo! The Pepal pants are so ridiculously comfortable, and I love – what seems to be a signature of hers – the drop crotch style. I was also able to get my hands on the Raf lace top – in white. I’d seen it previously on LaGarconne and ShopMrsH in black only, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the white on Espejto…and for a considerably lower price. Brilliant! I’d been looking for a good lace top (that didn’t project cheapness) for quite some time now, and this was it. I went with a medium for a more oversized look, and I absolutely …
