A Classic Sheffield

Polished, simple, chic and classic. These are four attributes I look for in my watches, and Daniel Wellington delivers on all fronts with their Classic Sheffield Lady. When the mood strikes, I tend to decorate myself with wrist and finger candies galore, so I like using simple bold watches to contrast – especially watches with big round faces. This particular model has a 36mm face, which I think is a perfect fit for my wrist. If you want to go even bigger, they do have a men’s version with a 40mm face (I am SO tempted to try), or if you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum, they offer a 34mm size called the Classy Sheffield Lady. All gorgeous, all shiny. Daniel Wellington was also kind enough to offer my readers a discount of 15% off all products! So if you’ve been looking for a watch, or on the fence about one of theirs, you’re in luck. ;) Just head on over to their website , add to cart and enter code: KALINGCHENG at checkout and you’ll be good to …

Barking Charm

Woof woof? Marc Jacobs has once again tickled my cutsey fancy, this time with his “Friends of Mine” loafers. I managed to grab these puppies (pun totally intended) at a discount from Piperlime during the holiday season and am completely obsessed with how small and dainty they make my feet look. Maybe it’s the French Bulldog in them? Whatever it is, they make my checkered Vans slip-ons look like giants. Yes, I am back on the Vans train too. Michi Love

It was cold enough this morning for me to cover my legs, so I finally got to wear my MICHI Illusion leggings that I’ve been dying to don. I’m always on the hunt for unique leggings since I can’t stand wearing jeans 90% of the time, and these are – for lack of a better word – awesome. The detailing and sheer panels are exquisite and flirty enough to add sex appeal without being inappropriate. At 6am and running on 4 hours of sleep, I really couldn’t think much so I threw on an oversized shirt, beanie, sneakers and I was good to go!     +++++++ ON ME: – MICHI Illusion Leggings (here and here) – Free People Zahara Button Down – DIY Wool and the Gang Zion Lion Beanie – Isabel Marant Bazil/Bekett Sneakers – Pamela Love Cage Ring – J.Crew Bracelet FOOD: Break of Dawn – Ranchero Omelette – Green Eggs & Ham +++++ SONG OF THE DAY

My Favorite Go To Outfit

When life gives you chaos, keep it simple. Work, deadlines, school, errands, events and relationships…looking decent and presentable can seem like  trying task. We’ve all got enough on our plates without having to add looking fashion forward and trendy 24/7 on top of it all. When I’m feeling a little bogged down, I like to dial it down and revert back to basics: t-shirts and jeans. This is my favorite go to outfit when I feel stuck. Dress it up with heels and a blazer, or dress it down with your sneakers and stacked jewelry – you really can’t go wrong. Aside from living in sweatpants all day, nothing beats your most comfortable t-shirt and your favorite pair of jeans, and feeling good = looking good.     Featuring my little ewok, Nima. ++++++++++ On Me: – Worn Thin Skinny Jeans from NastyGal – Pamela Love Cage Ring – Miu Miu Bow Bag

Kenzo Tiger Sweatshirt

Oh happy days! I actually captured a tiger…a Kenzo tiger sweatshirt, that is. Why are they so hard to get a hold of?! I had all but resorted to looking on eBay and Vestiaire Collective but could never bring myself to pay the exorbitant prices for what may or may not have been authentic. Kenzo’s e-shop doesn’t ship to the US. Opening Ceremony is always a big fat SOLD OUT. What could I do? I had to put it out of sight, out of mind. Lucky for me I stumbled across Filuca V last week, a Danish boutique, and they had just put up the pre-fall Kenzo tiger sweatshirts in navy and dark grey. I gravitated towards the dark grey and they still had a L in stock, so L it was! I am so extremely happy with the muted color way for this collection. I have to say this sweatshirt runs extremely small…I’m usually an XS/S in jumpers and the L fits just right – not too tight but not baggy either. Kenzo Tiger …

Getting Downward And Onward With Yoga

Have you ever thought “if only I had better _____, I would totally _____ everyday”? That was my typical excuse for putting off my yoga practice. I had an old crummy mat, classes that never worked with my schedule, and beyond old t-shirts and leggings as yoga clothes. Obviously,  yoga focuses much more on the spiritual than the material, but I hadn’t quite reached that level yet. I needed to feel comfortable and the tattered mat and clothes had to go. I searched long and hard for the best yoga mat, and ended up with the Manduka PROlite in Thyme. To solve class conflicts, I decided to try different classes of yoga and invested in The Ultimate Yogi, a 108 day program by Travis Eliot. I’m really excited to start the journey since I’ve heard great things about it! The program is said to be the “yoga version” of PX90. As for clothes, I’m totally in love with the Reebok yoga line designed by Tara Stiles. So. Cute. I’d been following her for the past couple …

Kenzo Hat

Wild About Kenzo

I’m a little bit late to the Kenzo game, but better late than never! I haven’t been able to get my hands on the deliciously loud – and almost to the point of obnoxious (almost) – tiger sweatshirts, but I tell myself I don’t want to blend in with the masses anyway. And I will be the first one in line if and when they release more. Digressing. This little gem of a hat found its way onto my head and I can’t get it off. Kenzo x New Era = great marriage. This took a lot of Google-imaging, e-mailing, boutique stalking and eBay searching to find, but it was well worth it. Opening Ceremony carries the newer stock, but I make things difficult for myself by wanting things that are unavailable…or maybe I just want people to know I’m wearing a KENZO hat, in case they can’t read it from the back. Serious talk: I love the animalistic x camo print of this one, and I didn’t take a liking to the new stock. Admittedly, …

Isabel Marant Memphis Boots Gris

Isabel Marant Memphis

Happy days! I finally own a pair of Isabel Marant boots. I  heard they’d been on sale for awhile so I figured I’d give it a shot and call around – couldn’t hurt right? I ended up finding a pair in my size in Ivory, but due to miscommunication they ended up going to someone else. I’ll admit, I was a little miffed, but maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. Then I found out about Odessa in Portland, and they had my size at 50% off…in GRIS! My fingers dialed at record speeds and they arrived at my doorstep in 3 days. The gris is a rich dark grey, and the studs were done perfectly. They are gorgeous. Isabel Marant Salome Shorts

Pumped Up Kicks

New season, new sneakers! Isabel Marant came out with quite a few versions and colors of her famous Bekett and Betty/Bobby sneakers this season, including the Balesi, Bayley, Wila, Brian, and Baya. Cute Converse-like stars, perforated leather, and sweet piping galore! As tempting as they all were, I decided to stick with the plain solid Beketts in Beige since I knew I’d get more wear out of these compared to the other styles. Result: happy! I also decided to swap the blue Salome shorts (skort) I mentioned in the previous post with red. I instantly fell in love with them 10x more when I saw them at forwardforward. According to my Chinese “ba gua”, red is my lucky color this year (this is me justifying my inclination towards anything red lately). 3.1 Phillip Lim Weirdo

Phillip Lim Is A Weirdo

Monday came and brought two gifts in tow: 3.1 Phillip Lim spoke to the “weirdo” in me with this tee. It was a little hard choosing between the “WEIRDO” and the “LOCO“, but eccentricity won out in the end. Number two…Isabel Marant cotton shorts from the Summer ’13 collection. I’ve been trying to snipe a pair of these shorts from a past season on eBay for the longest time with little success, so I was totally excited when I saw these on Luisaviaroma. Best part? Reversible. They’re not too ideal for the weather right now (figures), so I’ll be pining away at these until the sun comes out.   I hope everyone has had a great start into the new year! 2013 is going to be a year of big changes, and I can’t wait to share it with you all. There were a few setbacks these past few months, but I’m back and ready to roll (forreal)! Big projects coming, so stay tuned!
